We are seeking an experienced technology leader with at least 10 years of progressively senior experience in technology management, ideally within the insurance, banking, or broader financial services industry. The successful candidate will have a strong track record in managing complex technology environments, improving operational stability, and leading transformation initiatives.

Mandatory Skill(s)

• Minimum of 10+ years in Senior Technology roles with extensive experience managing large-scale, complex technology environments, including mission-critical systems and multi-vendor infrastructure, with a strong focus on service reliability, business continuity, and operational efficiency;
• Proven ability to stabilise challenging IT environments, resolve recurring operational issues, reduce incidents, and implement sustainable improvements in system availability, service performance, and resilience;
• Experience engaging directly with financial services regulators on technology risk, cybersecurity, operational resilience, IT outsourcing, and regulatory compliance matters;
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technology service providers, monitor service-level performance, drive corrective actions, resolve service delivery issues, and ensure contractual commitments, cost effectiveness, and quality standards are met;
• Experience leading technology improvement initiatives, including cloud adoption, infrastructure and platform modernisation, process automation, and the responsible adoption of AI-enabled solutions where appropriate;
• Strong understanding of enterprise technology infrastructure, networks, platforms, core business systems, systems integration, cybersecurity, IT service management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning;
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience in technology budgeting, financial planning, contract negotiations, investment prioritisation, resource allocation, and cost optimisation.

Desirable Skill(s)

• ITIL, CISSP, CISM, CISA, cloud certifications or equivalent technology-architecture qualifications;
• Professional certifications in IT service management, cybersecurity, technology risk or cloud computing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technology infrastructure and IT operations, ensuring the stability, security, availability, and performance of critical insurance business systems;
• Manage complex infrastructure environments across networks, cloud platforms, data centres, servers, and end-user computing;
• Establish robust monitoring, security, governance, and operational controls to minimise disruptions and ensure regulatory compliance;
• Lead major incident management, root cause analysis, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning to maintain operational resilience;
• Drive infrastructure modernisation through cloud adoption, automation, AI-enabled operations, and legacy technology rationalisation;
• Develop technology roadmaps, manage budgets and vendor relationships, and optimise infrastructure costs in alignment with business priorities;
• Ensure infrastructure risk management, audit readiness, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements;
• Lead and develop technology teams, fostering accountability, operational excellence, and service quality;
• Provide senior management with clear reporting on infrastructure performance, operational risks, incidents, compliance, and transformation progress.
