We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler to design scalable and reusable data models supporting analytics, reporting, operations, and AI use cases. The role will work closely with business, architecture, engineering, and data governance teams to ensure data models align with enterprise standards and business requirements.
Mandatory Skill(s)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related discipline;
- 5+ years of experience in Data Modelling, Data Architecture, Data Warehousing, BI, or Data Engineering;
- Strong experience in Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modelling;
- Strong knowledge of relational, dimensional, normalization, SCD, and canonical modelling;
- Strong SQL and data profiling skills;
- Experience with erwin Data Modeler, ER/Studio, or equivalent tools;
- Understanding of keys, relationships, cardinality, grain, history, and data quality;
- Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage, MDM, and reference data;
- Strong stakeholder communication and requirement-gathering skills.
Desirable Skill(s)
- Insurance domain experience particularly Policy, Customer, Product, Claims, Billing, Payments, Agent, or Reinsurance;
- Experience with Azure, AWS, Databricks, Delta Lake, or cloud/lakehouse platforms;
- Familiarity with APIs, JSON, Avro, Kafka, or Confluent;
- Experience supporting data products, analytics, semantic layers, or AI/ML use cases.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, reusable data structures.
- Define entities, attributes, keys, relationships, cardinality, grain, and business rules.
- Design relational, dimensional, canonical, and data-product models.
- Analyse source systems and create source-to-target mappings.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Architects, Engineers, SMEs, and Data Governance teams.
- Support data quality, lineage, metadata, security, and governance requirements.
- Ensure models follow enterprise standards, naming conventions, and modelling best practices.
- Maintain model documentation, repositories, version history, and design decisions.
- Support implementation and validate that physical solutions conform to approved models.
