We're looking for the QA Tester with 5+ years of experience responsible for ensuring application quality and reliability across portal, API, and backend insurance systems; Involves analyzing requirements, designing test scenarios, executing test cases, and validating end-to-end system functionality; Requires strong collaboration with developers, product owners, and stakeholders in an Agile environment.
Mandatory Skill(s)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing / QA;
- Strong understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and QA lifecycle (STLC);
- Hands-on experience in test case design, execution, and defect management;
- Experience testing across web portals, APIs, and backend systems;
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira Zephyr or similar;
- Ability to analyse requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios;
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desirable Skill(s)
- Experience in API testing using tools like Postman or similar;
- Proficiency in SQL querying for backend data validation;
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments;
- Exposure to core insurance systems and integration testing across multiple systems;
- Experience in General Insurance domain is preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Analyse business requirements and user stories to derive comprehensive test scenarios and test cases;
- Design, create, and maintain detailed test cases and test scripts;
- Prepare and manage test data required for execution;
- Execute test cases and perform thorough data validation across portal, APIs, and backend systems;
- Track test execution progress and update results in tools like Jira Zephyr;
- Log defects with clear details and supporting evidence;
- Perform regression testing to ensure system stability after changes;
- Ensure testing milestones and execution targets are met within timelines;
- Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman;
- Validate integrations across core insurance systems and supporting subsystems;
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
