We are looking for a Senior Java Spark Developer with 8+ years of experience in Java, Spring Boot and Apache Spark. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain enterprise banking applications, with strong SQL and software engineering skills.

Mandatory Skill(s)

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering and related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in software development and testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21 and Spring Boot.
• Solid experience with Apache Spark.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with SQL performance tuning, SQL Profiler and Query Analyzer.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or Argo CD.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable Skill(s)

• Experience in banking, financial services, credit risk or risk management applications.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern DevOps tools.
• Exposure to Apache Airflow/Control-M and full-stack development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain Java-based applications supporting the bank's risk and finance functions.
• Deliver high-quality, fully tested source code in accordance with established coding standards and quality objectives.
• Design scalable and efficient technical solutions using established design patterns and best practices.
• Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts and project managers to clarify requirements and define technical solutions.
• Analyse technical constraints and assess their functional impact.
• Optimise application performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation and provide accurate development estimates.
• Define and coordinate testing strategies with project managers and business analysts.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Support CI/CD processes and contribute to continuous improvement in development practices.
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment and report code quality metrics to project managers and team leads.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
