We are looking for Data Governance and Stewardship Analyst who will contribute to the effective implementation of data governance and data quality practices across the organization. This candidate will ensure that data-related controls are operating effectively. The role requires close collaboration with Business Units, Technology teams, and Risk partners to strengthen the Bank’s overall data control environment and promote consistent governance practices in day-to-day operations.
Mandatory Skill(s)
- Must have 2–5 years of relevant experience in data governance, data quality, risk management, technology, or business operations within banking or financial services;
- Familiarity with core data governance concepts, including data quality management, data ownership, and metadata management;
- Must have general understanding of regulatory and risk management expectations in the financial sector (e.g., RCSA/KRCSA frameworks);
- Exposure to data management disciplines such as data quality, metadata, or data lineage;
- Experience with issue tracking or workflow tools (e.g., JIRA) and reporting dashboards;
- Strong coordination skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and functions;
- Detail-oriented, with a structured and consistent approach to tracking tasks and follow-ups;
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document processes and support reporting needs.
Desirable Skill(s)
- Familiarity with banking systems or regulatory reporting processes;
- Knowledge of data privacy principles;
- Prior experience supporting audits, controls, or governance-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Review data quality dashboards to identify exceptions, trends, and areas requiring further investigation;
- Track and manage data quality issues and remediation actions using workflow tools (e.g., JIRA), ensuring proper documentation and transparency;
- Follow up with relevant stakeholders to drive timely resolution of identified issues;
- Work closely with Business, Technology, and Risk teams to coordinate data remediation activities;
- Contribute to the implementation and ongoing maintenance of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards;
- Participate in data stewardship activities such as periodic data reviews, ownership validation, and metadata updates;
- Support theKey Risk and Control Self-Assessment (KRCSA) processes by ensuring data-related controls are appropriately tracked and documented;
- Coordinate inputs from System and Data Stewards, ensuring submissions are complete and delivered on time;
- Maintain and update information in metadata management tools, ensuring consistency and accuracy of data definitions and lineage;
- Prepare and update governance reports, metrics, and dashboards for internal stakeholders;
- Organize and support governance meetings, including preparation of materials, minutes, and tracking of action items;
- Keep governance documentation (e.g., procedures, process flows, standards) up to date and aligned with internal requirements;
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including tracking progress and consolidating test evidence;
- Support audit and regulatory review activities by gathering required information and documentation;
- Provide coordination and administrative support to governance leadership, including scheduling and follow-ups;
- Assist with general team operations such as documentation consolidation, onboarding/offboarding coordination, and internal tracking of deliverables;
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in data governance processes and practices.
