Calypso Team Lead

We are looking for an experienced Calypso Back-Office Lead to manage end-to-end banking projects and oversee maintenance. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth operations by collaborating with business, infrastructure, and system teams.

Mandatory Skill(s)

  • Master's degree in IT or Finance;
  • Experience with Calypso version v14 to v17;
  • Expertise in Calypso's core functionalities like Static Data, Workflows, Scheduled Tasks, Confirmations, Settlements, SWIFT messaging, Positions, Accounting, Corporate Actions, Filters, Reporting Framework, and Reconciliation;
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial instruments such as Fixed Income, Money Market, with specialized knowledge of Bonds, Repos, and Securities, and the trade lifecycle;
  • Proven experience with regulatory reporting frameworks like HRF, NORIA, MMSR;
  • Proficient in Calypso integration: Interfacing with external systems;
  • Practical experience in project deployment;
  • Proven experience in Agile delivery and expertise in SDLC and DevOps methodologies;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, incident management systems (e.g., ServiceNow), and reporting platforms;
  • Solid understanding of Java, Linux/Unix, databases (e.g., Sybase, Oracle), PL/SQL, middleware (e.g., MQ Series), file transfer protocols (e.g., CFT), and job schedulers (Control-M);
  • Awareness of monitoring solutions (e.g., Splunk);
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. 

Desirable Skill(s)

  • Foundational understanding of banking and finance;
  • Knowledge of trade lifecycles and financial instruments (Bonds, Repos, Securities);
  • Familiarity with Capital Markets Front/Back Office systems (e.g., Kondor+, Summit, Murex).

Responsibilities

  • As a hands-on Delivery Manager and Run Specialist Lead, you'll join an international team supporting the bank’s RSF Platform, built on Nasdaq's Calypso and in-house solutions;
  • Oversee RSF Platform Delivery and Operations and lead the hands-on management and support of the bank's RSF Platform, encompassing Calypso and in-house solutions;
  • Manage Enhancement Requests, analyze and process enhancement requests for repo business and new products, ensuring alignment with strategic goals;
  • Collaborate on Solution Design by working with architects to propose and develop effective solutions for business requirements;
  • Drive Project Planning and Documentation to create specifications, workload estimates, plans, test scenarios, and release documentation for changes;
  • Coordinate Release Cycles, manage monthly releases, adhering to team milestones for analysis, coding, and testing, and support production release roadmaps;
  • Implement Calypso Release Schedules, define and coordinate the release schedule for Calypso applications, ensuring seamless deployment;
  • Optimize Release Processes to Contribute to the continuous improvement of release processes, tools, and automation;
  • Establish Application Monitoring, define and implement application monitoring solutions in collaboration with the build team;
  • Ensure System Stability by supervising and monitoring daily and monthly batch processes, addressing user requests and minimizing downtime, especially during morning/afternoon batches;
  • Report on Data Quality through process and issue regular reports on data quality within risk chains, with heightened focus during monthly runs;
  • Provide Multi-Level Application Support and offer Level 3 application support to business users and IT teams, managing incidents and requests;
  • Maintain Knowledge and Drive Problem Resolution to develop and maintain a knowledge base, collaborate on problem resolution, and provide non-functional requirements for monitoring as code.
