Network System Engineer

Our client is looking for a Network System Engineer to enhance and maintain the network performance service by designing and overseeing the IT Infrastructure and Communication Systems. This role will involve managing existing IT infrastructure and security services, both in the cloud and on-premises, to support operational systems.

Additionally, the Network System Engineer will play a key role in driving IT initiatives, developing technical requirements, and contributing to IT master plans that align with the design and to ensure the smooth business operations within the organization.

Mandatory Skill(s)

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or Information Technology;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in managing IT network operations in implementing IT infrastructure projects for LAN and WAN environments and providing 24×7 support, including service recovery and problem management;
• Proficient in installing and configuring various network technologies such as LAN, WAN, VoIP, WiFi, wireless controllers, access points, firewalls, security gateways, VPNs, 802.1x protocol, VLANs, and L2/3 switches;
• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and services, particularly in hybrid cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud;
• Experience with project management methodologies to oversee network deployments, upgrades, and expansions;
• Skilled in utilizing network monitoring, diagnostic, and analytics tools to optimize network performance and troubleshoot issues;
• Experienced in managing IT projects and collaborating with vendors to ensure successful execution;
• Proficient in risk mitigation, impact assessment, and ensuring continuity of IT services;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of working both independently and within a team;
• Able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet operational objectives and resolve complex technical challenges.

Desirable Skill(s)

• Professional and technical certifications that include CCIE, CCNA, CCDP, CCNP, ITIL, PMP, CITPM, CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect and equivalent will be advantageous. 

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage network operations, incident response, maintenance, compliance, and system renewals for both wired and wireless IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and support uninterrupted operations;
• Ensure effective project and change management processes, ensuring that all solutions meet the specified technical, functional, performance, and business requirements;
• Proactively detect and report signs of abnormalities, ensuring that corrective actions, recovery plans, and preventive measures are implemented for each reported incident;
• Serve as the primary point of contact for incident handling, providing impact assessments and coordinating appropriate responses to resolve issues swiftly;
• Work closely with vendors to develop and implement mitigation strategies, assisting in root cause investigations and ensuring prompt resolution of issues;
• Maximize network performance through continuous monitoring and effective troubleshooting, ensuring the network operates at peak efficiency;
• Schedule and coordinate network upgrades while investigating and resolving network faults to minimize disruptions;
• Ensure network equipment is updated with the latest firmware releases to maintain security and performance standards;
• Perform regular system maintenance to ensure the IT infrastructure remains functional, secure, and efficient;
• Deliver regular network status reports to key stakeholders, providing visibility into system health and ongoing improvements.
