We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to work on projects as a Database Administrator, for a reputed bank . This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make a significant impact.
Mandatory Skill(s)
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Information Systems;
- At least 3+ years of experience in system administration, NoSQL Database Administration roles;
- Strong expertise in Unix/Linux systems and databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, SingleStore, or MongoDB;
- Experience with high availability and high-scale systems;
- Proficiency in Python and Unix scripting for automation;
- Experience with incident management, including post-incident retrospectives and resolution;
- Hands on experience in troubleshooting on issues, raising ticket and coordinating with vendor, communicating and closing cases with internal users;
- Good communication (verbal and written) and documentation skills, with ability to coordinate clearly with different parties as above;
- Install, setup, configure, patch, and upgrade database software (Redis and MongoDB) safely, with reversion included.
Desirable Skill(s)
- Familiarity with database backup, archiving, and system performance tuning;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, driving continuous improvement in system performance and reliability;
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure Redis and MongoDB database software on production and development systems;
- Apply security hardening and optimization configurations to ensure database performance and security;
- Perform software patching and version upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and application compatibility;
- Test and validate new versions of Redis and MongoDB in staging environments before rolling them out to production;
- Design, configure, and implement Active-Active and High Availability setups for both Redis and MongoDB to ensure continuous uptime and data availability;
- Manage and monitor database replication for Redis and MongoDB, ensuring data consistency across nodes and replication health;
- Oversee and automate backup processes for both Redis and MongoDB, ensuring backups are regularly taken and stored securely;
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, slow queries, and database connectivity issues in both Redis and MongoDB;
- Analyze and resolve issues in database replication, data consistency, and query performance;
- Administer Linux-based systems (RedHat/CentOS), including installation, configuration, security, and patch management;
- Document all configuration changes, installation steps, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference and audits;
- Design, implement, maintain and automate the appropriate backup and recovery architecture as required.
